Our Story

I didn’t plan to start a business—I planned to grow old with my husband, raising kids, wrangling dogs, and having the lifelong debate on what to make for dinner. But life had other plans. When my husband unexpectedly passed away, I found myself thrown into the chaotic reality of being a single mom, grieving partner, and full-time life juggler. It was terrifying, overwhelming... and eventually, oddly motivating.

In the middle of the grief and noise, I realized I needed to create something—not just to survive financially, but to carry his legacy forward in a way that felt real. Enter: Thin Line K9.

My husband was the kind of guy who broke his back for years—literally. After working in trucking and construction, his body finally tapped out before his spirit ever would. So, he became a CDL instructor, and he freaking loved it. He was passionate about helping others find solid ground, and I lived for the updates he'd bring home—especially when a struggling student finally nailed it. You could hear the pride in his voice before he even walked through the door.

Eventually, he took his skills to the Department of Corrections, where he became a Vocational CDL Instructor. He believed in second chances more than most people believe in firsts. His students weren’t just students—they were proof that someone giving a damn can change everything. I still get messages from people he taught, telling me he was the first person who ever believed in them. That kind of impact? You don’t bury it with a man—you build something in its honor.

But if you really want to know what made his heart tick, it wasn’t the gear shifts or job titles—it was animals. Strays, rescues, our own misfit crew of seven cats and two dogs… he loved them all. So when I thought about how to blend his legacy, my grief, and my love for those who serve, protect, and occasionally drag their humans through mud for fun—I landed here.

Thin Line K9 is my tribute to the ones who hold the line—two-legged and four. It’s built with grit, love, and the occasional dog hair.

Thanks for being part of it. Seriously.
